I suffer with terrible Lower Back Pain all the time not just whilst doing housework but even when sitting down. Does anyone suffer this symptom. Also my arms have become discoloured, darker blotchy patches not raised or itchy just looks funny.

Some medications have that effect on skin. Recently my lower back was so painful I had to go to hospital ER. It was difficult to walk. I used a wheelchair. I could not lie on the gurney so they treated me whilst I was n the wheelchair. I do not know for sure if it is a symptom of Parkinson. It may be a symptom of a cancerous prostrate. I have doc appointment this week to find out or rule out cancer. I have also severe hip pain. Xray and ortho doc ruled out joint issue. Hip pain is also, with back pain, a symptom cancer has spread from the prostrate.

Could be a trapped nerve in your back, ask to see a back specialist or pay for private consultation if you can, a small operation may save you years of torment, it worked for me.

Pres my husband with PD is same as you. Lower back pain has long been a major problem for him often traveling down his leg and causing his calf muscle to go into spasm. We are in the UK so he has received treatment on the NHS in the form of 4 steroid injections in 3 years. The first injection gave relief for about 18 months, the next 2 injections didn't work: the 4th injection was last week and so far there's a little improvement. Hubby also has arthritis so he's not entirely sure if pain is being caused by Parkinson's or a combination of PD and arthritis. His posture is so bad that I don't think his back pain will ever be alleviated until his posture can be improved!

Me too......I now sleep in my electric chair which tips me out when I need to get up. No low back pain. I have given up my bed because to get up I had to use my wrists, elbows which have to 'click' before I can extend my arms, and my back.....I nearly cried with the pain. I do have pain all day now but believe most of it is Osteo Arthritis. I live on pain killers which don't have much effect. I have learned to live with it I guess. I'm now in my 11th year with this diabolical condition.

Bridielena my husband is 11 years with PD, 20 years with Osteo Arthritis. He's had 2 total knee joint replacements and at times been in terrible pain which we now have mostly under control with the barrage of supplements I give him. It's mainly his lower back which is still bothersome. Some time ago Silvestrov suggested some supplements for OA which we haven't tried (costs soon mount up)......here is a link to the post healthunlocked.com/parkinso...

You need to scroll down quite far to see Silvestrov's reply to me mentioning Avocado Soybean Unsaponifiables (ASU) and Limbrel

Of course it also goes without saying that you also need to drink plenty of water too as that is known to help with OA as well as good health in general ;-)

This helps me: Physio Massage to help relax the back muscles (two 20min sessions per week), stretch and decompress the spine (floor exercises), plus plenty of fluids to help vertebral discs recouperate each and every day.

Yes I get back pain, mainly when walking. It is lumbar/sacral and doesn't feel the same as an orthopaedic problem. My Neuro said it's related to my PD which is making it hard to stand tall. I get som relief by pulling myself upright against a wall

I have had litre back pain issues on and off for years. Pilates has helped quite a bit. The exercises focus on strengthening the core which helps support the spine.

There is Botox for muscle spasms.

Biggest problem in the low back is degrading discs. Definitely aggravated by prolonged sitting which is something we all do too much. If possible try laying face down and getting up on your elbows to reverse the pressure and posture of sitting. It should not be painful. So don't force it.

My husband has back pain and gets a lot of relief from his chiropractor. Massage also helps.

Yes i have similar problem my lower back pain never goes before i used to lift 50kg bags or my motor mower alone now i cant even bend , to do yoga or streching my leg ands arms .it hurts like pins or needles poking.

YES they call my back pain Kidney Stones

look for them and capture one, needs analysis

2 kinds: one grows only in presence of bacterial infection which needs treatment with antibiotics, other kind you need to cut down on calcium intake, (worse pain in my life)

see MD any way

Leg blotches: mine are caused by allergy to PD meds

also leg swells

important use skin creams to keep from cracking and sores which can lead to severe infections (14 days in Hosp and one year recovery and pressure bands for ever)

Gold Bond is good

see MD for better stuff

A good MD should know that you are more susceptible to crap like this because of PD and likely now have lower pain tolerance.
