I watched the video very carefully and I do not recall hearing him say he was diagnosed by a physician. There are numerous neurological diseases and it takes a professional to differentiate and properly diagnose.

I believe iTS ABOUT PLASTICITY OF THE BRAIN WHICH IS PRETTY WELL ACCEPTED NOW CONTINUES INTO ADULTHOOD. I HAVE NOT READ THE BOOK BUT "reversed which implies a cure " IS NOT THE SAME AS ALLEVIATing THE SYMPTOMS BY THE BRAIN MAKING ALTERNATIVE PATHWAYS. Unfortunately SOME PEOPLE, HOWEVER, GENUINE QUACK LIKE A DUCK AS WELL.

Excuse caps - not shouting -cant be bothered to type out again

Thank you for the explanation and I know you aren't yelling :)

There are many claims to cure and reverse Parkinson's out there on the net. He had a condition he calls pre Parkinson's he says. He says it very confidently too. I have never heard of it, he doesn't explain what it is and Noboby else has been able to either.

Exercise, especially while learning new skills has been shown to increase the blood supply to the brain and in labs, to increase the dopamine receptors of cells. All good.

It enables the brain, through neuroplasticity, to compensate for areas of damage and produces an improved sense of wellbeing.

Exercise is essential if one is to live well with Parkinson's

BUT

It does not reverse Parkinson's or cure Parkinson's. It helps with many symptoms of Parkinson's, it is cheap, under your control, and good for everybody but it is not a cure.

Keep fit until the cure comes though.

Thank you for your response. Exercise really seems to be a common factor. Some days it is challenging to encourage my husband when he hurts. He has neck and back pain...but he will at least get out and walk.

I am 10 years dx with pd and do crossfit 5 or 6 times a week. I go no matter how i feel. It is just something i do. I never say i might or might not go today i don't give myself the chance to consider not going i just go.

No matter how your husband feels he will feel better in the long run if he makes exercise a part of every day. Crossfit save my life and has turned my life around. It is never to late. I started in my 8th year.

Good luck

On days my husband had pain, he still did his stretches at least twice a day. Exercise is very important and that is why we all, even without PD, need to Keep Moving.

This video led me to a long search while experimenting along the lines he suggests. Eventually I tracked down the "clever doctors".

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

More experimenting ensued while I searched fo professional help. Eventually I found some.

hope-for-parkinsons.com/

The video on the home page explains it all.

Dr. Ron's main website.

drcargioli.com/

I am a year into the procedure and doing fine. I have told many interested parties, but none have taken it up. To me it's a no-brainer, but the momentum of Big Pharma is obviously stronger than I give it credit for.

1. Parkinsons can destroy my life.

2. Carbidopa will destroy my body.

3. My doctor wants to give me Carbidopa .

4. Amino acids will not harm my body.

5. Amino acids can control Parkinsons.

So far so good :-)

in reply to Harleybob08

Why isn't there more information about amino acid therapy? I appreciate this information and hope our neurologist is open to it---or knows about it. Wouldn't that be great news! I appreciate the information and thank you for your researching!

Harleybob08, when did you start with Cargiola? Currently communicating with them. Newly dx, want to stay drug free.

Been a year with Dr. Ron, been settled on a set dose for a couple of months. Very happy with the service.

Tmarsella profile image

Is your 2.2 grams Mucuna powder aprox one (1) teaspoon ? Same for L-tyrosine ? Thanks

Harleybob08 profile image
Harleybob08 in reply to Tmarsella

98% L-Dopa is not to be messed with. The doses need to be spot on. A spoon of this and a pinch of that will not do. We are way above recommended daily dose here; you CAN cause yourself damage. Better with Ron, but if not then here is some guidance.

First thing you need is a jewellers scales like these..

amazon.com/Smart-Weigh-GEM2...

You will also need some small containers with lids, or freezer bags to hold the doses.

There are two patented tabs required, which may be difficult to purchase without a doctor, although, with sufficient determination, you can source the ingredients.

These are CysReplete, and NeuroReplete. The formulation is on pages 9 and 10 of the protocol at ...

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

My personal dose is as follows...

L-Tyrosine. 2g

98% pure Mucuna. 2.2g

NeuroReplete. 1Tab

CysReplete. 1Tab

Vitamin B6 100MG

Folate 800 MCG

I take that three times daily at 4-5hr intervals.

Each dose is slightly different, but the above is close enough. I emphasis we are all different, and it takes months to establish a personal regime.

There are a couple of things to note :-

Sometimes CysReplete causes stomach upset if taken first thing in the morning. The timing of Cys' is not critical, as long as you get the daily dose, (3), leave it for later.

The daily dose of Neuro' is determined by trial and error. It should be adjusted to minimise any nausea caused by the Mucuna. It should be in the range of 1 to 5 per day.

The Mucuna dose must be found by trial and error. Start low and gradually increase. Most people fall within the range of 2g - 7g per Day, but not all. Initially my dose was reviewed on Mondays and Thursday's, and increased by 0.2g per dose. Eventually your symptoms should start to wane. Go by what you would consider the main symptom. As the symptom gets weaker review dosage maybe once a week. Allow the body time to sort itself out, if you try and beat it into submission with Mucuna you will probably OD. When the main symptom is under control, then stay there. Hopefully secondary symptoms will follow in time.

That is my experience to date; it's a long haul, but it took a while for us to get ill, so I guess it will take a while to heal.

As for the other ingredients; just introduce them gradually until you get to roughly where they are above. Read the protocol and try and understand as much as possible, knowledge is power.

I use tyrosine powder rather than tabs, and dissolve it with the Mucuna in warm coffee or hot chocolate. Just be careful not to make it too hot, if you can swallow it then it's ok. Yes, you can mix it with ice cream. :-)

The 2g-7g daily range is that each dose x3 daily or 3-7g range total in one day? Or up to 21g in a day? (7g x 3)? Thanks

Harleybob08 profile image
Harleybob08 in reply to Tmarsella

2-7g per day total. ie. 0.6g - 2.3g app. Per dose.

How does it work?

Harleybob08 profile image
Harleybob08 in reply to Astra7

I'm no doctor but. The LDopa handles the symptoms, just as conventional treatment. 5HTP handles the nausea and, unlike Carbidopa, is body friendly. L-cystine supports the gut in overcoming the disease itself. I have read the rest but can't remember it all, although it makes sense when I read it. It's all here....

Not everyone agrees. Good idea to avoid man-made chemicals where natural vitamins etc are available.

Thanks for the comment, and for the links.

Can you share with us what supplements/amino acids you are currently taking, and what the dosages are?

Thanks.

Thanks very much for the detailed reply. It gives me a good idea of the range of supplements taken, and also an example of the quantities and frequencies. I've also noted your reminder that everyone is different.

I'll need to spend some more time on the article(s), and any citations I can find, to get a better understanding of the whole thing.

Harley's bob, are you still doing well on your mucuna, tyrosine, etc regime 3 yrs ago? Tom

Harleybob08 profile image
Harleybob08 in reply to Tmarsella

Hi Tom. Yes, Mucuna et al are still doing the business, together with 500mg of b1. My condition took a bad hit while on LDN. My sleep was disrupted, it has taken many months to get back again.

I am still pretty weak, but improving slowly, I think. I do a lot of walking.

At present I am investigating cannabis. Being in the UK makes this difficult, but I think it may be the way to go.

Check out the endocannabonoid system and

Harleybob08 did you have a reaction to LDN? What dosage were you taking? I'm at 3.5mg LDN at night. I take 5mg B-1 daily and RYTARY 4xdaily (extended release C/L). Along with Mucuna Prureins Seed 3-4 x daily at 350mg . CBD oil at nite. Magnesium, B-12, D-3, omega -3, Age 79. California

Harleybob08 profile image
Harleybob08 in reply to Tmarsella

I was on 4.5mg once daily at bedtime for 6 months or so. I awoke unable to lie down anywhere due to oversensetive skin/flesh. I titrated off. A year and a half later I still have bed issues, although much improved. I can only hazard a guess at the cause, but shouldn’t be improving unless LDN is at fault. The doctor titrated me straight up to 4.5, with no trial at any other dosage, this seemed a bit suspect.

What does your doctor say about RYTARY, slow release C/L? Helped me well. TOM, California

Harleybob08 profile image
Harleybob08 in reply to Tmarsella

I have an annual chat with my neurologist. She is interested in my progress, but admits she is redundant regarding my meds, as she has no expertise or experience regarding amino acid.

Basically I am doctorless, unless I agree to go along with a C/L regime.

The only reversal of a well knowin PD was of Sor Marie Simone-Pierre by a miracle attributed by John Paul II. The case was well studied and no reason found for the the cure; that open the door for beatification and Sainthood. Google it.

What it's know, of real PD, is that it is neurogenic, chronic, progresive disease that, so far, has no cure; by itself doesn't kill.

Find a good doctor and follow his advice, if he says something you don't like or agree with get a second &/or third medical opinion. Exercise.

in reply to RobertoOcana

So interesting!! Thank you. Exercise-exercise-exercise....even when we don't want too :)

rhenry45 profile image
rhenry45 in reply to RobertoOcana

That is incorrect. This person has totally reversed his pd and it is even more documented than the case you mention. Fightingparkinsonsdrugfree.com/ he has complete medical documentation to prove it. He does not reccomend extreme exercise to heal from pd as it stresses the Parkinson body too much. In fact he has 4 students of his that have had full recoveries.

I believe he is far from cured and recently went on medication. His faith and belief ran ahead of his reality. But he somehow manages to re frame it.

I'm glad what you are doing is working for you.

That said, Marty Hinz's ideas are interesting, but I would like to see someone besides Marty Hinz reproduce at least some of his results before I take them seriously.
