p-oui,

I've had a look at the webpage you linked to. It says that the status of this trial is "completed".

Gotta be the one DRs Moussa and Pagan completed and reported on in 2015. That was open label, no placebo. Too bad Georgetown and MJFF are feuding. Nilotinib, brand name Tasigna manufactured by Novartis, demonstrated very positive results. Extremely unfortunate that PWP have to suffer for 5+ years for FDA approval. As most are aware, Tasigna is already FDA approved for a specific type of leukemia. Any licensed physician can therefore legally prescribe it "off label" for PD.

In my opinion, bureaucratic red tape, the pharmaceutical industry, and parts of the medical establishment are keeping Tasigna away from sufferers of PD. Tasigna costs for leukemia patients are $13,000 per month. Nothing more needs to be said.

It is more than sad, it is a travesty and the cost is lives - I don't know how else to say it. It seems we could speed from 5 years to 1 since it is FDA approved at least but I know that's not possible.

This is very good news. Nothing yet on the calendar at AMC in Albany NY. I hope this has wings and flies really soon. Read up, this drug has more than just promise. Data shows it works!

I have 100 grams of the powder form of nilotnib but I am scared to take it due to potential side effects.

Henry, I don't blame you. I would want to do this under a doctors supervision.
