Parkinsons detox

mymomhaspd profile image
19 Replies

I just joined this forum after seeing my mom struggle so much with her PD. Over the years have introduced mucana , a few supplements , exercise etc , but a recent fall has really pushed her back where she is tired, sleepy and can barely walk (she was only walking with the helper before also) .

Wish I had found this form earlier, cause folks on this form have been so helpful and I really appreciate it.

Has anyone done a parkinsons detox ? I read somewhere that bad dyskinesia is levodopa toxicity. So is it better to be a lil stiff than be dyskinesic?

We just started NAC, seems more sense to give it with tyrisiene. Is that true/

Please watch the video below .

Mom has had PD fr 10 yrs.. taking sinemet 25/100 6 times alonw with Mirapex and mucana

Have you seen this

marsvenus.com/blog/john-gra...

It suggests that for optimal brain health take the following suggestions twice a day:

(1) Mars Venus Super Food Shake

(2) Super Minerals

(2) Lithium Orotate

(1) Potential Vitamin

(1) Omega-3 (Vectomega)

(1) Activated B-Vitamin (this is time released, so ok to take with mucuna puriens)

(1) Vitamin D3 (5,000IU)

(1) Vitamin K2 (300mcg) Using high doses of Vitamin D3 requires high doses of Vitamin K2 as well.

For the best super food shake add the following:

2 ounces of Bravo Probiotic Yogurt

1-2 tablespoons of hemp oil

1 Brazil nut

Blend this together longer than usual; several times in a two minutes period. For a more refreshing taste you can blend with ice. With each mouthful swish the liquid around in the mouth for 30 seconds to a minute. Don't worry if you can't handle dairy. The Bravo yogurt will help heal the gut within days. If you are very dairy sensitive, then start out with a few days simply taking the Bravo Probiotic Yogurt and after a week your body will easily handle the undenatured dairy in the suggested super food shake formula.

For many people this simple protocol suggested above is not enough and the following program is needed for at least 3-6 months.

These ten added supplements should be taken twice a day before meals or super foods shake.

Mucuna pruriens (100 mg/1 capsule) over a 3-week period, slowly increase from 1 to 3 capsules (ok to take with time released B vitamins)

L-Tyrosine (1000 mg) 1 capsule

5-HTP (50 mg) 1 capsule

Grape seed extract 1 capsule

N-A-C (500 mg) 4 capsules

L-Taurine (1000 mg) 1 capsule

L-Lysine (500 mg) 1 capsule

A-L-A (Alpha-Lipoic Acid) (200 mg) 1 capsule

APMC 500 2 capsules (Aloe Vera supplement with mannose)

NADH (20 mg)

A drink of water with the following supplements 2 times a day on an empty stomach. First in the morning and in the afternoon before taking the super food shake.

Liposomal vitamin C 1 teaspoon

Liposomal Glutathione 1 teaspoon

Liposomal Curcumin 1 teaspoon

Liposomal B12 and Folate 1 dropper

Liposomal DHA 1 teaspoon

1 scoop of Collagen peptides (with glutamine and taurine)

1 scoop of Super Cleanse

2 teaspoons of Ultrablend Probiotic

You should feel the benefits increasing within your first month.

My dad is a primary caretaker along with some help and he is already doing so much (they live on a different coast) , so I am trying to come up with a simpler formula for energizing and detox.

PLEASE HELP !!!

Sounds expensive and complicated. All a person needs is good diet rich in fish, fruits, vegies, that are void of toxins some sunshine and some form of exercise. A good helper and people around them with a good and optimistic attitude. And time

And of course meds from a Doctor.

Seems simple but most good solutions are.

Believe in Life in the Presence of Parkinson's...this is the title of the blog entry that your mother might find comfort in. It is from the blog Journey With Parkinson's. I forgot to put this in above!

Getting good results here with straight NAC, no added tyrosine.

Everyone should be taking vitamins K1 & K2, D as well as supplemental silica and boron, for bone health. The details are set forth here: bit.ly/1Rkzhpl

vitamin C is good, as are ALA / DHA / Fish / omega oils. I just use flax seed oil in place of butter.

Since you are operating long distance I would keep it simple as possible. I would start with the NAC and then the others I mentioned to the extent your mom and her caregiver can handle it.

Thank you - it can get pretty overwhelming . I asked my dad to start NAC once a day first , then increase dosage after a week . Also adding watermelon juice and coconut oil to their diet.

Also exploring Xadago.

What can you expect after adding NAC to know its working ?

Generally speaking, any improvement in symptoms. My dental hygienist did not notice any tremors this time during my visit, versus noticeable tremors on prior occasions.

That's great !!! How long have you been taking it ?

A couple of months, max. But I do take it at least 3x day so your mom may have to work up to that before it starts to make a difference.

Are you having any bad side effects, some people said it was too acidic or something ..

I was the one that said it was too acidic. I get NAC powder and add 24% by weight of calcium hydroxide (also known as "pickling lime") and then cap it up in 00 gel caps. Nets about 720 mg of NAC, pH neutral.

I have used Livabmend for liver detox. for my mom. Milk thistle also comes to mind. But everyone is different , so please research everything before you start any herb.

I am following the Mars Venus protocol for the most part. Some of the supplements are in other pills that I take. Too soon to tell if it's working yet

How long have you been doing this . Please do update with results.

I started with the basics about three months ago when I was still on Mirapex. So I didn't really notice any changes. I've been off Mirapex for about eight days now and added in the Mucuna which I started on Monday. It's early days yet but I don't have the side effects from Mirapex which is wonderful. I'll keep you posted as time goes on

Hello, how are you doing, I just read your post. Are you still off meds and only taking macuna.? Thank you, Maria

Thank you . When you say basics, what exactly does that cover? There is so much info there that it can get overwhelming. :(

No. My neurologist did not recommend macuna and put me on levodopa which is working really well along with exercise
