I am 62 10 years  diagnosed with PD.

Retired last year.

Meds 1 50/200 extended release carbidopa levodopa and 1 25/100 carbidopa levodopa  every 4 hours 5 times a day.  1 6mg requip 24 hour and 1 azilect 1 time a day. Have been on this regiment for 4 months.

1 200 mg ibuprofen 2 times a day. 2 capsules of fish oil a day

Exercise

Crossfit 5 or 6 days a week.

50 push ups a day

Bike 15 miles a week average 1 hour.

Walk 1 mile a day

Side effects

got to go do something feeling (restless)

Moody late in the day.

Problems

Hands get slow and stiff last 30 minutes of 4 hour cycle but does not happen if I am busy

Sleep but has improved the last two weeks to 6 hours a night

Good things

Go all day.

Smell has improve

Taste has improved

Small set back

Hurt my back digging a (2.5 hours non stop) 55 foot long 1.5 feet deep ditch for my brothers water line but am almost okay today a little stiff in lower back. Still work out but a little less intense.

All and all i am improving day to day and am better today than 10 years ago.

I started Crossfit January of 2015.

Keeping PD at bay.

Kicking PD's butt

You and I are on the same page - KEEP MOVING! I know a few people with PD and even though I've had it for 30 years, I'm in better shape than all of them. I don't do as much as you do but I do a lot. My enemy is sitting, doing nothing. Some days you have to do nothing but the more you do the less days you'll feel like doing nothing . Summary: when I'm moving, I don't have PD!

Finding something to keep busy can be hard.

Moving seems to be the key.

moving is the key. doesn't matter what you do, just do it! I've had it for almost 30 years and believe me - that's the key, at least it is for me.

Sleep is restorative. Your routine is a model for therapeutic exercise. Do hope you find a path to longer sleep it seems you feel you need more sleep. Six hours used to do it for me but nowadays I like 8 for my brain to help me be more like my old self.

Hi Bailey. May I ask you a question please, and don't feel offended. If you chose not to answer it I understand.

With all that levodopa and requip medication you take, do you have any dyskinesia yet?

Hi Bailey. I'm very pleased you don't have it. Just remember, dyskinesia is caused by the medication and not the Pd.
