Hi, I have just bought some zandopa but it doesn't have any dosage instructions with it and no scoop supplied. Could you give me an idea of dosage measured in teaspoons please? Thanks Gill

Hi Gill. I use Zandopa and what I'm about to say is just my own experience. I started cautiously and experimented. I began using a heaped teaspoon in half a glass of water. Then I progressed to two teaspoons and stayed at that dose for a few months. At the moment, I'm using 2.5-3 heaped teaspoons. It does make me feel a little nauseous for 20 minutes about half an hour after taking it, so I use it first thing in the morning, giving myself time for that to pass before I leave the house. As I said, I advocate cautious experimenting - you'll find what works for you.

Thankyou Stevie3, do you just take it once a day? Are you on any other medication? I am on co-careldopa 25/100 3 x daily, but am still getting break through times. Also I was wondering about travelling abroad with zandopa, getting it through customs as we are going to Australia in a few months and know they are really strict on bringing in herbs of any kind. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this ? Sorry for all the questions but I was only diagnosed 5 months ago so am a nervous newbie.

Hi. I'm on aziclet, 1mg once a day. Incidentally I read somewhere that you shouldn't take Zandopa with Aziclet but I do! I use the Zandopa every morning and very occasionally I take it in the evening if I'm going out. I also take 1000mg of Mucuna Puriens in capsule form during the day. My only experience of customs was taking it into Scotland from England - they did ask me to open the tub. They were ok when I explained what it was - I showed my card that I carry which says I have PD. I'd also bought the sales note I got when I ordered it. I'm going to Amsterdam in April and will be taking it in my hand luggage so I'll let you know how I get on. I've been prescribed ropinirole but it's just sitting in my drawer. I'm finding the Zandopa deals with my symptoms to the extent that I don't feel the quality of my life is diminished but when it becomes less effective, I'll start thinking about the prescribed meds. I'm not anti-medication.

Generally a plastic spoon should be available inside, please check. One such spoon is equal to 7.5 g. The dosage depends upon your condition. You can adjust dosage, depending upon your condition

. Suggested max dosage is 1 to 1.5 spoon x 3 times daily, in empty stomach, 30 to 45 minutes before food for to be effective.
