Anyone tried dry needling for muscle pain? My PT is going try tomorrow. Hopefully gives relief! Spasms in chest Saturday & still have not retracted. Miserable.

Yes, I did it 3years ago for sciatica pain. I had 3 treatments, one a week and it cured it completely for 3 years.. But pain is back and the ortho has moved away and I have not found another.

Good to know positive results. Hope you find another therapist who can help you. I get sciatica pain too & feel your pain. Looking forward to some relief on chest muscles! ! Greatly appreciate your response.

BeezyB, be patient with dry needling. It was after the third session that pain went away and I stayed pain free and exercising vigorously for three years.

RacerCP I will... as have done acupuncture multiple times so assuming similarities between outcomes.

What is dry needling? Does it help pain go away?

YES it was dry needling & I've done acupuncture for years. This is much more invasive as makes your muscles twitch or spasm when punctured. It is Western version of Accupuncture. Very painful as I am full of contracted muscle bands & knots. Only 2 sessions in. Seeing relief from 1st. Very sore from 2nd still. Work in progress. Telling self No Pain No Gain!!
