Hi!

Tried to update profile twice. Does HealthUnlocked not like iPads or does iPad not like HealthUnlocked?

Anyhoo..... Here for the same reasons as the rest!

I have early "annoying" symptoms, but not life changing at the moment. I did start Azilect 0.5mg about 3 weeks ago hoping to help the Micrographia. Tolerating that fine for now. No noticeable improvements yet but start 1 mg soon. I have no balance issues yet. Also have Hashimoto's thyroiditis and symptoms of PD are less when that's under control and when I exercise and eat well.

Hello dear Debbie Sue;

Welcome to the 'club.' What a pretty lady your are.

In the beginning when I tried to sign in to this site, I had trouble too.

From my desktop. So it does not have anything to do with your pad :) Maybe someone else has the email to Health Unlocked and you can email them directly.

You will be up and running with us here on the site shortly.

Hugs and love, Eva

I cannot update my profile. I suspect it is a general overall problem with the web page.

Hi DebbieSue. Other people will get tired of reading my story, but for every new person who needs to know as much as possible about Pd then here is the place to start.

My symptoms started in 1963 but I was only diagnosed in 1992. In 2002 I was able to come off all Pd medication and nobody would ever have known that I still had Pd. At the age of 80 I now live a normal life, even though I still have many of the Pd symptoms.

I am going to give you my web address - reverseparkinsons.net - and there you will read all you need to know about Pd.

But just in case you think I am keeping all the things I did a secret I will tell you in a nutshell what I did:

1 I started a fast walking program, slowly building up from 20 minutes to 1 hour, 3 times a week

2. I took an MAO-b inhibitor by the name of Eldepryl as my ONLY PD medication.

3. I adopted a positive attitude towards my Pd. I did not deny that I had it.

4. I Learned how to control my movements by using my conscious brain.

5. I took steps to cut all harmful stress out of my life, including giving up my high-powered job.

To put it all together I wrote a book about my experience and it is titled: 'Reverse Parkinson's Disease' and it is available on the website.

The website has got over 400 articles on Pd and how to deal with it.

You are not alone!

If you doubt that I have Pd then go to

youtube.com/watch?feature=p...

and hear Dr Doidge in an interview about his book 'The Brain's Way of Healing' where he talks about my history. You need to listen to all of it but my story starts at 27 minutes 15 seconds.

Good Luck

John
