I am so sorry ..If it is Parkinsons why doesnt any of the meds work? what about brain surgery?

If some one takes Levodopa in a big enough dose then they will benefit from it if "standard" ideopathic PD is their affliction. My initial dose had to be doubled for me to be able to tell any difference. If no benefit is found then this is a classic test" for the disease being ideopathic (no known cause "standard") PD. When I did eventually get a large enough dose the effect was profound. I went from being a minor quivering wreck to being "normal" within an hour of taking a dose.

I am afraid that after being on a site such as this for any length of time we all slip into bad habits. Thank you for reminding us that acronyms should be used only following a complete, expanded version first.

I only know one of them PWP stands for Persons with Parkinsons

[Hikoi]

A number belong to what is called Parkinson Plus (atypical Parkinsons) syndromes:

MSA......Multiple Systems Atrophy

PSP......Progessive supranuclear paralysis

LBD......Lewy body dementia

CBD......Corticobasal degeneration

Then we use

PD...... Parkinson's disease

PWP.....Patient /person/people with Parkinson
