Madopar or Sinemet or Stalevo are likely to take about the same amount of time to take effect. Madopar, my main drug too, seems to take about 1 hour before any effect is evident. The dispersable version of Madopar being absorbed more quickly should get going rather more quickly. Of course that's the whole idea of the dispersable.

Hi Pete

Thanks for reply , my madopar dispersable can sometimes take an hour or more but I don't know whether it's the patch interfering with it ?

If my sinemet wears off I have a lot of trouble walking. I believe it also affected my breathing. After I quit i could breathe much better.

I mean the patch affected my breathing. About a week after i stopped I had a lot of trouble moving and breathing but it was for only one night . I think it was some kind of withdrawal thing. Feel better now but going to give the azilect another try tomorrow.

Hi michaela,

Yeah I think it's the side effects of coming off patch x I just wanna be able to walk round again without holding on to furniture , it's so frustrating being like it , I'm never touching those patches again !

Hi Joe

So sorry you are have meds troubles. I think it can take quite some time to come off any parkinson meds, just as it takes a while to build up. Im interested in the mention of breathing problems with an agonist, i havent found any studies but will keep looking because I suspect they can affect our breathing.

Joe i havent ever heard of the patch giving walking problems though. Im on RequipXL and it has the opposite effect for me it helps alot with my movement and walking.

Do keep us updated on how you are going.

Hi hikoi

Yeah the patches helped in walking a bit bettér but they were causing me to fall and have anxiety , they were supposed to help the wearing off so they kept upping the patch and I was slurring my words unbalanced etc so I'll need something to replace patch to help my walking again
