John Rehm, husband of NPR talk host Diane Rehm, after battling Parkinson's for years, asked his doctor to help him die when he could no longer use his legs and arms. His doctor refused. So he checked into a local hospice, noted he wanted no food or drink, and nine days later died of dehydration.
