My husband is on Sinimet plus and Rasalagine,he sleeps most of the day,just does not seem to keep awake,he sleeps well at night.

Could it simply be his age he is 85 ?

Why not give your Parkinson's nurse a ring? It can be difficult to decide if Parkinson's itself or the meds are the problem but he/she should help you sort things out.

my husband, age 70 went on provigil/modafinil for narcolepsy. It took a long time for insurance to pay for it

and for Dr. to diagnose it as such. He was much improved since then, much more alert and awake during the day and still sleeps well at night.

What does your husband want? If he wants to keep going, there are ways to do that. If he doesn't want to, or if he is just too tired to, he may choose to sleep more. There are meds that can artificially keep a person going, but they can lead to other problems. But it's an effort the patient would have to want to make, else it would be very difficult
