I suggest seeking out a homeopathic MD that will treat your entire body first and the disease second. Using homeopathic remedies.

Is there any form of natural MAO-b inhibitor? If there were, I would have thought that it wold be already in use all over the world.

Polygonum multiflorum, (aka...Foti, He Shou Wu): ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/162...

Tribulus Terrestris and St. John's Wort are also MAO-b inhibitors. I use Foti.

Plant cures Foti is 5 to 1 concentration and is higher than most other commercially available polygonum multiflorum on the market: plantcures.com/ourproducts....

If I remember correctly its a bad idea to take St. Johns Wort if you are also taking Serotonin.

The following study compared the effectiveness of a SSRI vs. Bupropion (Wellbutrin) in the therapy of Parkinson's patients.

asm.confex.com/ipa/11congre...

Results: Comparison of the changes from base line to end point revealed significantly greater improvement in both depressive as well as motor symptoms of PD with bupropion then with the sertaline on all three efficacy measures. Side effect profile with both the drugs was approximately equal.

Wellbutrin is obviously a better choice for PD patients than any SSRI but if you are on Wellbutrin you CANNOT be taking a MAOi (of any type).

According to the Mayo Clinic, it is not safe to take bupropion within 14 days of an MAO inhibitor. Doing so may cause seizure.

That said the effects of MAOi generally slow the progression of PD for about 5 years and Wellbutrin may have effects for a longer period because it helps the body maximize its dopamine.

Also, MAOi were originally created for tuberculosis therapy, Iproniazid, and after they noticed that it enhanced the moods of TB patients they tested it on depression patients and it worked well. The word antidepressant was coined in 1952 then other MAO1s were developed for depression patients, specifically, Deprenal - Elderprel by Dr. Joseph Knoll in Hungary afterwards came Rasageline. Really though, the Indians were way ahead of the curve. They have used the combination of Tribulus Terrestris, and MAO1, with the Mucuna Pruriens bean - a source of L-dopa, for over 1,000 years.
