Constipation

Many PD people have constipation. I have a friend who went through chemo and radiation for cancer and ended up at the hospital because of constipation being so bad.She had a blockage and after the hospital took care of her and sent her home, the nurse stated that many people suffer from Constipation and told her to buy ground flaxseed and sprinkle a teaspoon on her food every day and that should help. She has done this for 10 years and does not have a problem. I thought I would share this information for the many people that struggle with constipation. This may help.

I've had constipation most of the summer. I used milk of magnesia yesterday and still feeling the effects this morning. I'll look into flaxseed.

i have had a lot of problems with constipation. so for lunch i make a smoothy, including a TBL of ground flaxseed.

i also eat ten dried prunes at night. after supper. and every morning like clock work i have my morning constitutional. no problem what so ever. the prunes help , but it was the flax seed [ground] that really made life much easier.
