My legs have been doing the jitterbug, the hustle and a marathon at night. Drugs help some but I seem to get better sleep when sleeping alone. How would you explain this to your spouse without making them feel like you're leaving the bedroom forever?

"Sleeping single in a double bed" Do you sleep in a different bed than your spouse?
It is important that you both get sleep then relationships can still flourish. (Wear the carpets in between beds if necessary) my hubby diagnosed at same age 42 18yrs ago we still manage you have to talk. Takes lots of understanding but love prevails ups downs part of the game take care of each otherx good luck xx
There seem to be two issues here - the sleeping alone in the double bed, and the effect on the relationship.
The relationship side I will leave alone for obvious reasons, except that for 9 months before the split, she had been sleeping in a camp bed in the same (only) bedroom.
The practical sideis easy. Sleep on the same side as you did together, put her spare dentures in a glass of water on "her side" (and yours in her room), and don't forget to keep using both sides of the electric blanket, otherwise, when you move around in your sleep, if you cross the middle of the bed, the cold will wake you up with a vengeance.
As the non Parkie person I am just grateful if my husband gets any sleep at night at all, whether it is in our bed, the spare bed or the chair. I wish I could help him but I don't know what to do. No medication or regime seems to alleviate the symptoms. One or two nights without sleep is bad enough but I can't imagine what it is like to be almost completely sleepless. I think you should explain to your spouse how you feel and also say that sleeping separately helps you both get some sleep! Good luck.
I moved to a separate bed before diagnosis. It was hard for me to keep still so I kept waking him. And I would lay there trying so hard to be still, unable to sleep. Up and down to the bathroom all night. Makes sense in hindsight now. I got lonely in the bed though, so my little dogs joined me. They put up with all the movement at night.
I had to L was having such bad dreams, and hitting her that I felt it only fair she get her rest, she has to work everyday something I can no longer do.
Kind Regards

My partner kicks out, shouts and makes me jump so much that very often he or myself sleep in another room, it makes sense.
