What about the weather?

I personally find that my symptoms get worse during hot weather. I'm curious, how does weather impact your symptoms?

I think that winter aggrevates Parkinson's symptoms because we don't get out as much.. I had to shovel six inches of snow this morning but I'll count that as a trip to the gym.

It was cold (30 F; -1C) this morning, (57F; 14C now). Cold weather makes me shiver...I shake enough without weather helping me along. :)

I love the cold! My muscles hurt less.

I don't like the winter any more. Cold seems to get the trimmers going.

Interestingly the Chinese refer to PD as a disease of the wind and I do find that my symptoms are aggravated when it is windy ....... Tony

Hot weather makes my PD much worse. I'm in New Jersey (USA) so we can have those steamy-sticky-humid-hot summers which really do a number on me. Thank God my little condo has central air. I am also prone to the drenching sweats. And I'm always having hot flashes. When I was younger in my pre-PD days I used to love the hot weather...now I want to move to Maine !

Hot weather is the worst. I find that I have much greater flexibility when it;s cool and dry. Hot flashes and sweats are also a problem. Interesting comment about the wind. I think I have observed that about my symptoms, too. I'll have to keep better track of that. I always blamed flare-ups on changing weather.

THe meds seem slower on the uptake, but I love winter. I like the cozy feeling of sleeping late, the long nights, the sun low on the horizon, I feel no pressure to get up and get outside and get some fresh air and when I do, I feel I have really accomplished something, me and my walker! I want to move to country but only in spring and summer!

my Parkinson's is definitely worse: when I shiver all my muscles tighten up and my tremor gets much more pronounced.

My husband and I went to Lanzarote on holiday last year, and my symptoms were so much better. I was in the pool every day or lounging in the sun . It was bliss.

Summer heat and humidity are the worst! Cool, misty weather is for me. I'll trade places with anyone living in Seattle!
