My SCT journey continues
Hi all, not posted for a while but I am now at day+33 and finally starting to feel a bit normal again. I had very bad mucositis following sct and then problems with fluid retention due to all the IVs, mainly tpn as the ng feeding tube didn't stay in. Anyway looks like I'm going home on Friday so that's

Update on Mum, bowel blockage and TPN advice.
Good morning all. I just wanted to say hi after quite a while of no post, and give a little update on mum. Some of you will remember mum had OC stage 3c in feb 2021, and was later that year also diagnosed with another separate primary cancer found in her debulking, they also found a rare appendix cancer

Alternative/Additional treatment
Hello, adies. I just want to ask if anyone has tried alternative/additional treatment, like special diet, nutrition therapy? Has anyone of you visited a nutritionist to help go through the healing process? Any recommendations? Thank you very much!

Medical Perspective on COVID-19 from Seattle
I am posting this from the consideration that information is empowering, and in this case is full of caution. It is from a physician deeply involved in the fight to care for Seattle COVID patients. It is not a controlled study and has no statistics. Rather a first-person perspective on how this is unfolding

More data from the LATITUDE study.
New paper below [1]. "At 6 mo, 40% receiving AAP {abiraterone acetate and prednisone} + ADT and 6.5% receiving PBO {placebo} + ADT achieved PSA ≤0.1 ng/ml, which was significantly associated with longer rPFS {radiological progression-free survival} and OS {overall survival}." -Patrick [1] https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

A different type of diet that may impact prostate cancer - low polyamine (see study)- no need to be vegan :-)
I would love to hear thoughts on this study. It is an older, small study, but there is additional supporting evidence for reduction of polyamines, which is posted after the study. Basically, the group that reduced polyamines and took antibiotics to reduce polyamine producing bacteria survived twice

Finally, My First Dietician Consultation Yesterday!
As another newbie to CKD diagnosis and to this group, Sassymom, our stories are very similar but from a great deal of reading, unfortunately not that uncommon. A large, unexplained weight loss led to my PCP's ordering an ultra sound which reported: "suggestion of renal disease". My request to PCP for

Hello hospital, my new home for the next few weeks
Well where do I start; I’m 28 a mother to a beautiful 5 year old boy. I have hyper mobility of my hip which has left me bedbound and has you can imagine it’s caused a bit of ripple affect. Every time I get an illness or sick bug I loose dramatic amounts of weight which is a lot in the last year. This
