I lost my Mum 7 years ago to Pancreatic cancer, I mysely have suffered an immune deficiency disorder and have currently been diagnosed with IBS, I was just wondering whether there is any screening available for close family members? Lots of love and strength to you all x

Also, could someone detail the symptoms, I have been suffering a sore stomach in the mornings, bouts of severe constipation where my stomach bloats ans left sided abdominal tenderness, and sometimes feel I can't swallow or can only eat foods that are easy to digest, I am 48. I am having treatment for IBS at present.

Can understand ur concern. You seem to be suffering from similar symptoms to my daughter - who has been diagnosed with Diverticulitis. Mite be worth being checked It's darned annoying and can make one feel really poorly when infected but shouldn't be life threatening. Good Luck.

Thank you for your answers, the main symptoms seem to be itching and jaundice, I'm so glad you caught things early silverstreet xxxx Mum had not been aware of particular symptoms and just collapsed one day and was admitted as an emergency, when we saw her she was very jaundiced and was in hospital a couple of weeks before she died, in hospital. She was going to have a stent to try to help but was not well enough, and unfortunately there was no time to transfer her to a hospice. She also did not want to know what was wrong with her. We found it very difficult as she had moved to another part of the country, an area we did not know well, but near where she was born. I suppose it was the suddeness of it that affected us xxxx
