Hello everyone, I am new to the site. I have undergone a lot of bowel surgery over the years - the biggest being 2 years ago which was designed to get rid of nerve damage pain due to previous ops - which has not worked! I am not very good at taking medication but have got to the point where my docs have said that to enable me to be pain-free I will need to take it for the rest of my life. My doctor has recommended Pregabalin and I have read mixed reviews - anyone taking this med and if so, any good?

Have you ever tried EFT (Tapping) to reduce your pain? As an EFT practitioner it's something I do often with my clients as their pain is often Stress or trauma related, so whilst you may have had damage as a result of past operations, the cells around the point of the operation can also hold onto trauma, and Tapping can reduce your level of pain, so that you aren't reliant only on medication, especially if the pain comes back before you can take more medication.

I recently worked with a lady whose neck had ceased and she could barely turn her head. Within 10 minutes of doing tapping with her, she was able to turn her head 180 degrees horizontally and vertically.

You can't do it wrong, the worst result is that you don't get a result, usually because the person isn't being specific in describing the pain.

hope that helps

No, but I have heard of it. Are you able to give me any more details?

You can find videos on Youtube for EFT(Tapping) or I would be happy to jump on a call with you, to explain how it works and how you can learn to do it , so you can have more control over your level of pain.

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to put links in here, but this is the link to the lady with her stiff neck so it gives you an idea of how easy to do (18 mins in)(facebook.com/mishapay/video...

Did you suffer any side effects and if so, how long did they last?

i was once mistakenly prescribed pregabalin and gabapentin at the same time i was in a dire state then almost took a 2nd dose but pharmacy called me to tell me to

stop taking gabapentin and she was calling me every hour til midnight i went in to pharmacy next day to reassure her i was ok . I knew she could have been blamed for the mistake but it was her day off as soon as she saw what had happened she called me other than that i would rather be on these and oxycodone than any other pain relief but there again i do take 5 mll of oxynorm before bed when desperate

Yes it definitely helps my nerve pain...I take 150mgs twice a day...much better than nerve pain.

My own experience was a complete disaster. I was given Lyrica and I wasn’t monitored. The pain specialist just told me to take up to 350mg three times a day.

I’d been in 24/7 intractable nerve compression pain for over ten months. I wasn’t able to sit as my rectum burned. I sat on ice everywhere I went. Outings became fewer and fewer. Friends drove me to appointments while I lay back in a recliner passenger seat.

I couldn’t lie down either so I wasn’t sleeping despite taking one 7.5 mg Zopiclone pill at bedtime.

This pill did nothing for my nerve pain. It did though affect my mood ( I went in and out of rage ), I became very unfeeling emotionally ( and I am an empath ), I gained a massive amount of weight and long term I lost my sense of smell and taste for several years. I was taking it with Cymbalta and that combination is toxic. It made me so dry mouthed as well so I was drinking water all day long. I actually bought a water backpack!

I quit taking it cold turkey after about a month. I developed a serious kidney infection and I had to have antibiotics.

I don’t recommend this medication but for some lucky people it works with no side effects.
