Try typing in Fibromyaligia in the healthunlocked search bar or on your own computer search bar type Fibromyaligia UK and press search button . Good Luck.

Hi there

I have Fibromyalgia which I class as a debilitating condition. There is a support group I go to in London and is called Fibromyalgia Awareness UK or we have Fibromyalgia action UK. They do a brilliant job and by contacting them your friend may be able to find a support group in her area.

I wish I had a caring friend like you👍

There are a couple of supportive groups on Facebook, you do need to take care before joining, a couple of them have been very negative, however I follow these and are very helpful, supportive and keen to answer queries. I rarely post, however, I read the comments ans suggestions, sometimes trying things, other times not.

Thanks Monkey233, she has been on the Facebook website ones and you are right they are not that helpful on what she was saying, I did say to come on here as this site seems to be the best for everything. I will chat to her later to see what she has done and once again thank you

Hi

Where in North Manchester does she live? I know there is a group at Middleton library which I'm thinking of joining after Christmas. I'm very lucky to have such a great support network of family and friends and all of you on here. Please let me know how she goes on. Love and hugs to you both Lynne xxxx

Hi Lynne, she is around the corner from North Manchester General hospital, my geography is pretty poor to be honest but will pass on the details to her and appreciate your feedback, thank you xx

North Manchester General Hospital is about 6-7 miles from us. Middleton Library is on the Long Street, the road leaving Middleton towards Rochdale. Take care Lynne

A 'diagnosis' of fibro is really like someone saying "yes we realise you're in pain, we don't know how to help +/- here are various tablets you could try but they won't fix you".

But I believe there is hope, based on my recovery from a life-time of pain. I learned to use my body better:

healthunlocked.com/painconc....

It's been a lot of hard work, time and effort but, bit by bit, I started to feel better, releasing the pain and regaining my natural range of movement.

Starting from my Base-Line (pelvic floor + rectus abdominis muscles).
