Would really appreciate some advice. I was taken to hospital on Thursday night as I thought that I was having a heart attack with dreadful pains in my upper left chest radiating down my left shoulder & arm. My heart was racing (paramedics recorded heart rate at 179bpm at some stage) was very breathless too. Anyway was allowed home on Saturday as they couldnt find anything wrong with my heart. However today the pain in my left shoulder, arm is awful and feels like I'm being zapped with electric shocks, my arm has also swollen up can feel lots of lumps and have just noticed a large patchy purple and red bruise come up but I haven't banged it. My vision keeps going blurry and my heart racing. I attached a bit of info from my discharge letter for more information. My question is... I can't get an appointment for my GP today, should I go to A&E to get checked? or am i being a drama queen? I don't want to waste the hospitals time if i don't need too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated .

Hi why don't you call 111 for advice. If you are worried and in pain just go to a and e and tell them about this. Good luck

No I don’t think your a drama queen, what time are you on telly r l9llol, seriously if you suffer pains in your chest then yes A&E, there’s lots of things it could be in the past I’ve had these pains and nothing can be done, I was finally diagnosed cant remember name but it involves the joints in my chest

We’re inflamed and that caused me to think heart attack and I’ve been to hospital many times, just a thought and the symptoms sound very much alike.

All the best.

Advice from everyone is A&E, chest pains means dial 999. If you call 111 they should send an ambulance. Never take any chances. Hope you get it sorted and feel better soon.

Don't need about - call 999. 5he paramedics would agree that it's better to be safe than sorry. Please let us know you're ok.

Have you checked for possible digestive issues as the cause? I had severe chest pains and had an endoscopy to check for ulcers & other issues that may cause GERD, which often mimicks heart attack symptoms.

“GERD and other gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers, muscle spasms in the esophagus, a gallbladder attack, and pancreatitis can all cause chest pain and other symptoms that mimic those of a heart attack or angina, a crushing type of chest pain caused by decreased blood flow to the heart.”
