I'm from the states and I have had two lidocaine infusions. I had a spine injury where blood entered my spine and destroyed the nerves, and unfortunately the lidocaine infusions did absolutely nothing for the chronic pain I feel in my legs every night. They did eliminate the pain when the IV was in me with the. lidocaine going through my blood, but within hours of the pain came back. But for those few hours with all the pain gone in my legs the feeling was amazing. Many people do get relief from these infusions, and they go back every few weeks or months to keep the pain controlled.

Hi Biddy . I have just joined here. I have these infusions and find they are the only thing that give me some temporary pain relief ( but not full pain relief). I am in Uk. It's getting more difficult to get them though as so many drs will no longer give it. I am now having to travel some distance as can no longer get them locally because of specialist refusal. May I ask your what condition/ conditions are? I have arthritis, back problems, joint problems and Fibro. I take a lot of meds. I don't think they help me much anymore . Been on them a long time. The infusions are the best thing for me. I spose it depends on the dose though and how often you have them. I know some people it has not worked for though. But for me personally its made my life bearable again. When I can get them. I was having them fortnightly at one stage over 3 months but that was deemed too often and dangerous! If I am lucky I can one big dose every few months, It does not last long though and for me personally I always feel rougher for a few days after it. But then start to feel the benefits. It just does not last that long though (for me) . But I go for it when ever I can as it does help. I hope it helps you Biddy. :)

Hi there,

I had a lidocaine infusion, sadly nothing changed for me, but if your pain is that bad anything is worth trying once, what doesn’t work for some just might work for you.

Good luck 🙂
