Steroid injection?

Been seen by my lovely rheumy today and have had a steroid injection in my butt for inflammatory arthritis, I've got to have another next week, anyone else had 2? Also how long does it take to work? Also should I expect any side effects?Xx

Haven't had any. Pain Clinic didn't bother as they only last weeks. I said let's arrange for me to have one when my pain is bad. He said if couldn't be done as it would take three months getting an appointment !!?!

Pretty useless attitude for a pain clinic doc eh? He was new. Hope he moves on!

All the best with yours, get some pain relief while you can, should calm the inflammation?

I contacted the Pain Clinic yesterday and the response was so blah blah - backed up with appointments....just told No priority appointments...even though GP had intervened with request...felt really low after the conversation and so invisible...

Oh well, just have to up the meds and give myself a stomach ulcer...then that will be another trauma....

Sorry ..feeling sorry for myself today....having too many days like this.

Hi. The relief varies from person to person. For some people it can last for months. For me, it takes a month to take effect and then I only feel a bit better for a week. Hope yours works well.
