Knee: ACL Tear with torn cartilage

I had successful ACL repair surgery in Apr 2016. However there was a centimeter long piece of cartilage that they had to cut out. While the knee is strong, without the cartilage, running, cutting, etc. continue to be painful. I take a supplement (glucosamine/chondroitin) not sure if it is helping, but willing to try.

Any thoughts?

Interesting you are taking these supplements. Very mixed opinions on their success.

I have a dog with hip dysplasia and vet has put her on same . Drug companies and reps claim it does repair and grow the cartilage. We will see.

Yes we will see overtime. My Physical Therapist recommended as did my PA. Guess it will hard to compare to not taking it, but if it helps and has no side effects, I'll continue to take it. Think it works for some and not for others.
