Cervical nerve root block for back and neck pain

Hi

I have been told that I need to have a cervical nerve root block done as doctor is thinking my pain is caused from a damage nerve. I am absolutely freaking out about it as I hate needles and will only be going under local anthestic so I'm worried I will feel pain especially where the sore nerve is. Who has had it done under local anthestic and did you feel pain? If so how bad was it?
