Finally an answer after waiting for 2 yrs to have an xray.

I posted a picture of my xray . And Thursday gone I finally had an answer to a question of is it my spine? . I have mild scoliosis I call it a kink it's not quite a curve and is no where near bad looking compared to other scoliosis images . So yrs of walking with my kinky back along with hip dysplasia plus low bmi due to eating disorder and I'm not one for sitting about doing nothing and always busy on my feet then it's bound to catch up with me sometime. Always pushed myself to the limits

As it's mild there isn't anything that can be done I'm doing what I can and that's manage . Well I do pain management. But pain is pain when your curled up on the sofa crying its that intense . So finally I can draw a line on the not knowing . The medical professions opinion these days seem to be the treatment is the same no matter the condition so no need to investigate but I said to my psychologist the other day that's like saying there's no milk in the fridge with out checking first . Or your car breaks down and you just say it can't be fixed . You'd get it looked at properly to decide if it's ready for the scrap heap so why not our bodies if we know what's wrong we know how to deal with it and not necessarily treatments but mentally cope . I get sometimes nothing is found but then you still get to not worry about the could be's I was worried about it being degenerative but no sign or wear n tear etc . So yey to that worry being gone now .

One thing the doctor mention, I think is it a chiropractor? Has anyone else seen one ? I did read via doctor Google that only helps in the first yr of pain... no idea why or which site I read that lol .

I also attended my pip review assessment last wk apparently I have to wait another 6 -8 weeks . I sent forms back in March so is taking along time for a review considering original claim took 12 wks. So I shall write a post when I have something to share as I know many people struggle with the whole pip claim .

I see a chiropractor and it's really helped me, much more than monthly physio did. The chiropractor spotted things missed by the physio. I also have mild scoliosis and mid back, hip, right leg, and neck pain. Chiropractor has stopped the muscle spasms I used to get in my back from standing still, the pain in my hip has improved as the chiropractor found my pelvis was rotated due to the scoliosis and he also found I needed orthotics (which he didn't try and sell me, I just got an express pair off the internet) he also found I have tmj syndrome, that's a funny treatment.....involves a gloved hand inside my mouth n lots of wiggling. I dont find treatment painful, it's not all forcefull thrusts, he's actually quite gentle. It is still ongoing treatments, I go every 3-4 weeks and have been going since March so it's not a cure although my neck pain hasn't come back

I agree with you about the stress of not knowing what's wrong....even if treatment is the same whatever your condition. I understand the nhs can't waste money as well. Just wish private healthcare things like blood tests and X-rays weren't so expensive. Don't know what the answer is on that one.

I'd definitely give a chiropractor a chance.

Wishing you the best

My chiropractor is brilliant. But you do need to ask around and find out who gets a recommendation from their clients. Some of them are merely bone manipulator. Which is OK if you need your bones shoogled about.

My chiro is very knowledgeable about every thing in the structure of the body. So as well as some manipulation( neck) she also gives me exercises, acupuncture and deep tissue massage. After an operation for jojnt fusion she was the only one who gave me a rehabilitation programme.

Sorry you didn't want me to exhol the qualities of my chiropractor. I am just emphasising that finding the right one is so important.

I hope you find some help soon

Some people find osteopaths better as they are more gentle and take into consideration the soft tissues more. My osteopath has kept my whole family going for 25 years now.

Thanks I think maybe I should contact both chiropractor and osteopath and try see which may be helpful.
