Double pain in both hips

Double hip pain,sciatica plus bursitis ?? Off and on for several months had sciatica with help of cortisone injections... but now both hips (and Dow one leg) are painful. We have plans next week for Fla. vacation. Shot didn't work this time, and now BOTH hips are painful. No time for MD now... help!!!!

I find alternate ice pack/heat helps short term. Thick memory cushion to sit on for travel...

Idea only - Check your vitamin D blood levels or try taking a high (safe) dose of vitamin D3, or even go out in the warm sunshine and soak up the sun and see if it makes any difference. People often say their bones ache less in the summer time. Vitamin D is the sunshine vitamin. Taking a high, but safe dose of D3 helped cure my hip and sciatica pains and more overnight. Not saying it will work for everyone 'cos we are all different, but it might be worth checking vit D out. 85% of us are low or deficient in vitamin D here in UK.

Take a look at vitamindcouncil.com for lots of info on vitamin D and what taking vit D3 can prevent, also for safe high doses of vitamin D3. I take 5000iu daily, this amount keeps the pains at bay. If I stop taking it my pains come back within that day.

Wonder how long before it will take effect ? I started two 3000 of. Vit D several days ago. Ut still in pain. But am traveling.. short vacation so In car for several hours..hoping for relief soon. Thanks for reply.

Ask the doc for a gel for your hips that has a steroid in it and you can use that between injections, I keep mind in the fridge so that it is cold and if works wonders and you can use it once or twice a day because of steroid i it. Worth a try, I have same problems and have been using it for years. Good luck xx
