Frozen shoulder - MUA Treatment

I seem to be finding conflicting advice on this procedure and what I can expect afterwards. Like how long will I be off work? how long will I be in pain? Will I be able to move my arm straight away ? Will I start Physio immediately?

I'm suffering from one at the moment on my right shoulder and I have been in a bad way for 2 months. I had it back in September last year on my left shoulder by November I was invalid. GP gave me injection (I presumed it was steroid) the effect almost immediately because the constant pain was bearable afterwards. 2 weeks later feel a lot better. But then in January my left shoulder started having a same symptom soon my physiotherapist said I'm suffering the same thing as my left shoulder I was terrified because I know what I'm in for. Keeping hope diagnosis might be wrong but all the excercise getting hard to do. So before it got too bad I went to my GP (different doctor) asked for injection this time it doesn't work, pain getting so bad in the last 5 weeks. I'm going back tomorrow to see the first GP and see if I can get another injection. This is what I've been told about the injection, 20% might work 80% might not or it might not went in the right part of the shoulder! In my surgery only 2 doctors can do this injection. He also said the best time to had the injection when you at the stage of frozen. Apparently there are 3 stages. Freezing Frozen and Thawing. So my second injection might have been given too early. As to how long you need to be off from work? Could be 4 months, I know some one off for 6 months.

I think a lot of it depends on what kind of work you do. Everyone is different as far as the healing progress. After my surgery for frozen shoulder I was down for about a month. Then started physical therapy. I feel so much better now. Glad I did the surgery! Thats just me though. Good luck!

I think you're right everyone different. But reading yours must be a bad one to need a surgery. Just read about mua manipulation under anesthesia, again this treatment must be for severe f shoulder. My GP hadn't suggested any of this to me. Just got back from GP he just prescribed me with cocodamol 30mg and diclofenac 50mg. Can't give me another injection because the last one only 5 weeks ago. Going back in another 4 weeks if movement still restricted. I just don't understand why it has moved to my right shoulder right after I had injection on my left and feeling a bit better. I had no injury, I don't work. Maybe just my luck which is not a very good one.

Sorry I have to make a small correction. In January it was my RIGHT shoulder started having the same symptom. Which now on the stage very very painful.
