Foot pain in ball of foot

Hi

I have a pain in the ball of my foot but it goes through to top of my foot it is uncomfortable and the pain is really bad can someone advise me to what this could be either a stress fracture or something else thanks im worried as i do a lot of running and i do really well

I have a lot of experience of forefoot pain. Took me literally years to figure out my combo of overlapping underlying causes & to organise convincing diagnosis & effective treatment...meanwhile I got to the point where I could only stand & walk for vvvv brief periods of time...now there is better info available online. You're right to figure this out before it becomes as chronic & intractable as my forefoot probs did.

If I were you, I'd see a sports podiatrist or chiropodist asap for examination & to discuss treatment & management options. You're doing really well at running and enjoying it...you need to help your feet stay fit. Our feet (& hands) are highly complex specialised parts of our anatomy....they work hard & can use all the help we can give them
