hi I'm new here and my problem is my right side of body pain is under ribs going all the way round to back the doctor says it my liver ive had some test done but couldn't go through with the catscan as I cant lay down it hurts also when I eat hurts I'm waitng on to see what else there gonna do don't think they can leave me in pain

If it's your liver a blood test can tell a lot. The liver is lower right side of body Any other symptoms like yellowing eyes ? Ultra sound is quick and painless Normal Xray to. If CT scan is needed then get it done / if too painful ask Dr for pain control for test. Please don't ignore problem if Dr thinks your liver is the problem Liver disease is easy to diagnose.

What about the pain ? Any numbness in arms fingers etc ? Any injury to neck ? Rib cage is up higher than liver so get a chest X-ray to. Pain means something is wrong and a TEST & Xray are needed to rule out any type of organ - causing pain. The more you worry the more it will hurt so do yourself a favor ; let the Dr do the tests right away.

Referred pain; when you have maybe a spinal issue it can send pain signals all over the body via the nerves. Normally a CHEST PAIN needs emedeate attention and if it was me I would go to emergency room for help if pain is that bad plus they can do the tests you need. Don't put this off Maybe it's a simple fix There are a number of things it might be.

If pain is your biggest worry you need a Dr to find cause of pain so it can be treated. Pain relief isn't fixing the problem. I have severe constant pain after 10 back operations so I know what it's like.

Do yourself a favor and make sure your liver isn't the cause of pain.

Get the test done tomorrow and then go from there. Trust me you will feel better once the Dr finds the cause.

thankyou but had all the test except couldn't do the catscan as I'm having trouble laying down it hurts they did say it was a csyt on liver now its not ive had ct scan and a mri and a ultrasound this is been going on for some time I'm on pain tablets which are 60mg a day morphine don't work also just got the all clear of lung cancer so that's a gd thing but this pain is awfull got hospital lnext week also waiting on to see another doc to see what else they can do I don't drink or smoke truthfully cant get out ive got to be carefull what I take as I have fits alsio brittle bones

hi I wrote some time ago about my liver so the dr says my legs ankles feet are all swollen I was tested for blood clots but everythink is fine just a lot of fluid the problem now is I'm still in pain so last sunday went to a walk in centre about my legs as there big and he sent me to a and e anyway I went and they done a ultrasound o the right side of body where I'm getting all the pain as I cant lay down and if I eat it hurts anyway they found a adrenal gland which I lying on my kidney so they told me to get to my gp which he wrote 5 pages of what he found went round there fri and told him he was so nasty he said all the dr know I said no they don't as I only found out sun anyway he wouldn't help so ive changed my doctors I'm still in pain and also got to wait to see this new pain management I don't know if any ones had a adrenal gland on kidney and if so can they get rid of it and is it painfull thanks

It's awful when in pain maybe they could of made u comfortable before doing ur scan . If I thought it was my liver causing that much pain is want to no what it was no matter what. Try to grin and bear it

they told me if I move or make a noise which I know I will it will muck it up I have tried but the pain well cant subcribe it but I did ask if they can do it standing up or sitting up they said no so I'm gonna ask doc if he can give me a locam sorry about spelling but its only on right side just wanna get it out whats ever there mon I had a blood test so I'm hoping there see somthink in that

Maybe sedation is the way forward. Yr still awake but so much more comfortable

that's what I'm hoping for that's if they do it a friend of mine said they might put somethink down my throat I said ill choke don't think they can do that

Ann, I really think that some useful information could be gained as to the cause of the pain by you having the CT scan. It does not take very long. If you explained to your doctor that you can't lie flat for the scan due to your severe pain, then maybe they could give you a strong painkiller tablet or injection in order for you to have the scan. it would be worth it to possibly obtain a diagnosis.

i had the ct scan and hurt but it was the petscan up London they tried to lay me down on side but no and they tried me stoach no I did ask to put me out they said no also they said if I move or make a noise it will muck the scan up as they have to put that radiation in me so I didn't waste there time also had a blood test mon so I'm hoping there got it now and call me in as my appointment is next wed as the pain is going in my chest proberly my ribs but they cant leave me like this can they pain killers I'm on 60mg morphine tablets plus oramph and that don't work
