You can have fairly severe neuropathy and not show on nerve conduction tests. But I suggest that you not worry too much as IF they treat neuropathy it is very similar to treating fibromyalgia. First get and keep the diabetes under control which gives you the only chance for the nerve damage to heal. Meanwhile doctors can prescribe Lyrica. Gabapentin (neuronten). Cymbalta and elavil. These can provide relief for many enough to allow a degree of activity that helps mind and body. Wish you well and take care
yep I agree with bar2 I had all the various tests for neuropathy and I know what caused my condition, nerve damage is very painful and my main symptoms are in my feet going up my legs,as well as various other sensations, there's many medications that are available and hopefully they'll be one that suits your needs, its no walk in the park and just be prepared for the long haul,it's very difficult to cure this condition I think its more of trying to get on top of the pain that most sufferers would like to happen on here, some with more success than others,I think you'll find that there's always conversation on about PN on this forum,so keep browsing and possibly there might be something on here that's worth mentioning with your GP,and try getting a pain clinic appointment if you've not done so already, good luck
