chronic abdominal pain.

I have chronic abdominal pain due to adhesions & nerve damage from multiple operations. i occasionally have an acute-on-chronic episode, which is treated in hospital with a PCA. last time i went to A&E (during the night). GP thought i should have seen him during surgery hours, so that's what i've done twice in the last few days, but he won't send me in. Instead he has written to my pain consultant, who, at my last appointment, refused to make any adjustments to my medications. i don't know what to do now. I feel that i'm not being believed, but i really am in a great deal of pain.

Any advice please.

See someone who understand muscle trains. Adhesions can be massaged out in certain cases. Realignment of body posture may ease things a bit.

You need to investigate whether what I say has any truth to it.

Hi I share your pain I've had this problem too now for the last 3 years, you can always ask for a second opinion if you feel that your not being listened to and see where you go from there,I'm having problems to but living with chronic pain is not easy for you or the people out there that don't understand how much it hurts and how difficult it is to live with, your whole live changes plus your on Medes that make you sleep and hardly touching your pain, hope things start to look up for you soon, the best they can x

Thanks John & Kay for replying. In the last 7 days i have seen my GP twice and my surgeon once. My pain consultant does not reply to phone calls from myself or my GP. My surgeon feels that it is my pain consultants responsibility to sort out my pain relief, and he will write to him. it is much more urgent than writing letters. I'm spending most of my time in tears not knowing what else to do.

suerosie hi there hun,

I'm awake as I'm in pain yet again, so I know where you're at.

If your pain doc and gp are being unhelpful I'd be inclined to call an ambulance again. You're not meant to be in as much pain as you're describing in this day and age. Although my pain when it flares is horrendous, my meds usually keep it manageable. I'll have the off few nights a month like tonight where it keeps me awake, that is just how it is for me.

Hope u get relief soon, but iiwy I'd call the ambulance if you're in so much pain you're crying!
