Why are you so abbreviation happy? It is badanners. It would be very encouraging if once in a while the full name appeared.

hello

Why did I get a message from you about bad manners. i do not know when I responded to you as I was in hospital for tests yesterday and was on prep the evening before. This is my first visit here for a time. If I have talked to you out of turn ???

Most here I suppose would sometimes use abbreviations for some drugs and treatments so I suppose you must feel many are bad mannered on this site.

I will personally remember you and give more leeway ????

I do not recall any time I've used abbreviations.

Is this message aimed at anyone in particular or are you generalising that we are all "badanners" - I had to look this word up and presume you meant bad manners.

A spelling mistake is not the same as abbreviations. Sometimes this forum reminds me of the film "Good Morning Vietnam" where one guy delights in expressing himself in abreviations to sound ever so important.

Hope you have had a pain free day.

It would be nice and polite if we all new who you are referring to?

Am I right in thinking that in general you are finding it difficult to understand what the abbreviations people use on here for various conditions, drugs etc. mean? That's OK, I'm sure most of us have wondered about the odd one or two. Please do not be offended by them, people certainly don't intend to be I'll mannered. Part of the reason they are used is because they are often long, complex medical spellings which people don't like to get wrong in case they seem stupid or others won't understand what we are talking about.

The best thing to do when you read something where you are not familiar with the abbreviation is perhaps to ask the writer to explain. I'm sure they wouldn't mind. Sadly, your accusation of bad manners is probably not the way to achieve understanding, and without being specific as to whom your complaint is aimed at we are confused and don't know how to help. Be more specific and try again :-)

If there is an abbreviation I do not understand, I just google it.

I do so love this forum,

I love that this post has been responded to in a respectful, way - I have been on another forum which I had to leave as I found the aggression so tough to be connected with.

This post had attracted genuine desire to understand,

You truly are a great bunch of people to be involved with and I just want to say a plain and simple but heartfelt thanks.

It's heading for 3am and pain has stolen my sleep, again. Am in the recliner chair downstairs, as I can't lay down with the furnace in my SI ( Sacroiliac ) joints

I hope others are faring better sleep, wise, it does make the days more bearable if I get some sleep.

Thanks again folks,

Shirley
