Lidocaine Infusion - one week on

You guys on here are simply the best. Your posts have literature dragged me through this last week. I've been feeling most peculiar, my brain was all bubbly, I had a migraine, kept falling asleep and so on. But today, today, I've woken up and...........*whisper* the pain is less!! I'm frightened to say it out loud in case I'm wrong! But I'm cutting down, slowly, on my morphine, and the excruciating pain down my left side, all the way into my foot *whisper* is gone! Oh my days! Oh my days! I can't believe it. Keep your fingers crossed, I'll post again tomorrow!

Of course I remember. I really don't know how to thank this forum enough. I'd never have been strong enough to keep going without all your support. I wish I could take you all out for a slap up lunch! Please keep posting as to how you're doing.

Much love and thanks

Hi there I'm glad it helped you.

Did you do it yourself at home or at the hospital.

I do mine at home but I dred putting the needle in now because it hurts so much now . My skin feels like leather and thick !

Does anyone have any problems with the sticky band aide that goes over the needle to hold it in place !

I end up with blisters underneath it and they take weeks to heel up. They now give me hypoallergenic ones and they help but I still get some small blisters underneath still. Anyone else have this problem ?

I can't use tape it falls off due to the infusion taking over 12-14 hours .

You may be allergic to latex so even hypoallergenic coatings might not be enough. Ask for non-latex dressings.

Thank you that's a god idea , I go back in 6 weeks to pick up next lot of supply's so I will ask them to give me the non latex option.

Thanks again
