Did the pain clinic help with your pain at all?

Hi teadrinker sad to say no and its worse now. what with my top of spine sore daily and now my feet ache .

Hello PIRATE

Sorry so negative, what have they suggested to you, will they be seeing you again. Many find that you need to stick with it for a while or are you now set adrift. . That is what happened to me I went for a refresh and I was told I was managing fine. So I was told to return for refreshers when required sometimes this can be undertaken by a physio or OT.

Good luck

It's so frustrating that you go for an appointment and come put with another "problem" and the one you went with is still a problem. I used to feel that getting to the bottom of the pain was like some sort of dark tunnel. There is light at the end of it somewhere.

Hello

BOB here

Personally I feel that chronic pain will never be completely suppressed, for that there are no medications that will do that completely.

We can at times see this bright light at the end of a tunnel especially when we have a remission, although it is what it is possibly a short period of time, that is the make up of the animal.

If we want complete suppression of pain we would be completely zonked out and still we would get periods of the pain we are used to , that would still be seen, we just need to look at patients in hospital who are on pain pumps at their movements. when they are sedated, they are still feeling that pain, in a restricted way remember when sedated we still need pain control.

To go to a pain clinic and come home with a further condition, like a nod or twitch could possibly a further problem associated with your condition this should always be looked into by the GP and can

be addressed when you return to the clinic and twitches seem to point to a further condition and should be always checked with some urgency.

Chronic pain is a chronic condition that will in restricted form will always tell you that I am here

All the best

Hi Bob looks like I will have to put an appointment on with doctor tomorrow with regard to the head shacking an my top of spine an sore feet and this is on top of my neuropathic leg pain . At present all I am on is the Tramadol 30x500 tablets .Am trying hard to keep it all together.

Hello Pirate,

We all are on a hefty kick of drugs, so if something comes about without reservation we should always discuss with the GP as chronic pain can hide so many things.

Today I am sitting in my chair my head feels like it is going to drop off because of my problems with neck and shoulders, here I know what Is wrong so I try and accept my lot and beat the chronic condition that I have without taking further medications etc to suppress it

If for any reason I cannot explain what is wrong, as we all know our bodies best of all I will hoof down the road and bend my doctors ear for assistance and reassurance .

All the best

good luck

Teadrinker frustrating is an understatement I woke up today an the first thing that hut me was the feeling not of pain bit of both my legs being heavy this is a weird sensation like having weights tied to both legs making my legs heavy an weak ,by the way my legs are very thin an in no way should they feel heavy. hope that you are on a good day today.

in reply to PIRATE185

Hello Pirate

The pain in your legs are you getting pins and needles, or cramps with heavyness associated with them

All the best

sorry Pirate that you are not having a good time of it. I understand the Heavy feeling as when my pain was at its peak I got it in my jaw, but it was quite hard to describe to other people because it wasn't "pain" like anyone else I knew had experienced, yet it was very, very unpleasant, and difficult to move. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

I'm sorry things are so rough at present. I have a slight head and hand tremor, known as 'essential tremor', which I inherited from my mother, who had it much worse than I did. Many cases, like mine, are genetic, but sometimes it just happens. It's worth asking if you can be referred to a specialist in movement disorders, otherwise a neurologist. The National Tremor Foundation has a group on Facebook, although their website needs attention!
