It won't be a massage oil - although there are some good ones, but the main recommendation I'd make - the only thing that works for me is TENS. It can take ages to sort out the best electrode positioning and program - if necessary with the Pain Clinic or physiotherapist. I've tried a number. I find the current Boots I-Touch gives too many pad errors, but the earlier TOUCH-TENS on the Tenscare website is excellent - and best of all is the Ultima TENS - not currently available on their site. If you can get one of those and just new wires and electrodes it's great.

Oils for massage, you will need a carrier oil say olive oil,mix that with the other oil of choice say lavender, The actual rubbing of the oil,into the skin warms the joint and is a nice way to apply essential oils

Deep heat is excellent, you get benefit from the massage rubbing it in and the heat brings blood to the affected area.

Ibuprofen gel 5% also good. Check it doesn't interact with any other meds you are on.

Alternating hot and cold pads also good.
