Side effects with Imbruvica

I have been on Imbruvica for 3 years now and it appears to be working as my lab numbers are all in the normal range now. Even my platelets went from 118-140 in a 3 month period. But I am wondering if swollen legs and feet could be caused by this medication. I have a swollen right foot and leg that is enlarged up to the knee. Doctors have me in compression stockings that do not seem to work. Have done kidney labs. It seems there is a small amt of microscopic blood in urine but otherwise, ultrasound shows kidneys and liver at normal size. Legs have been scanned with no abnormalities. I cannot lay around all day with my legs elevated above my heart and cannot be on fluid pills all the time as I have a job, etc. Is anyone else having this problem?

I had a problem with swollen legs & feet back in 2004, and the dr recommended diuretic pills & support hose. I went to a cardiologist, and he ordered a 24-hour creatine clearance that showed lots of protein in my blood which meant I had a kidney problem. I was referred to a nephrologist, & from a kidney biopsy, I was diagnosed with membranous glomerulonephritis. I was treated with predisone & cyclophosphamide, and the condition has been in remission since 2005. I was diagnosed in 2013 with SLL. I have now been on ibrutinib (imbruvica) for 44 months. Swelling in feet & ankles is minor.

I have been to a kidney specialist after a 24 hr urine collection showed that the albumin that should stay in my blood was showing in the urine. Small amounts of microscopic blood in my urine also. Other tests were negative such a diabetes, Hepatitis, etc. so I was released. I do have a cardiologist appt. coming up. Thanks for your response.

You must see Cardiologist first!
