I visited my GP surgery today and saw a locum about Rosacea expecting to be switched from a wrongly prescribed Rozex Gel and he prescribed
oxytetracycline
. Looking at my bloods he announced that I should take Ferrous Fumarate because of the anaemia.

Since giving birth I have now been put on a antibiotic called
oxytetracycline
, can anyone shine a light on how effective this treatment is please? I have been suffering with these cysts, which were first told to me as bartholin cysts 🙄 for 10 years. I’m at the end of my tether!

Wondering about Bronchiectasis - update
Since then I ended up with another infection (I’d only finished a two week course of
oxytetracycline
less than 2 weeks before this). Went back today as I’d just finished a week long course of doxycycline and wasn’t sure if I was better or not. The G.P.

Blood in Phlegm.
. - I have had many episodes and have rescue medicine at home the usual for me is Prednisolone and
Oxytetracycline
. This time for the first time I noticed 'Blood in Phlegm' yesterday it seems merged, tonight just a slight streak, but being it was not merged - there was no doubt it was blood.

Oxytetracycline
Anyway was put on two week course of
Oxytetracycline
two tabs 4 times a day and, if colour of sputum is anything to go by then the infection is starting to clear up. Peak flow gone up a little and goes up to my usual after taking all my inhalers so still taking them twice a day.

Advice re tetracycline
No 1 choice would be
oxytetracycline
. There appears to be, to me, slightly confusing information available about the potential effect of this antibiotic in those with Lupus. Some places I read that there are case reports (but no proven assocation) of it provoking drug-induced Lupus.

Persistent Diarrhoea (plus Creon)
The Small bowel bacterial overgrowth had been treated in some with specific antibiotics for 7-10 days,
oxytetracycline
, augmentin, ciprofloxacin or rifaxamin. No good evidence for probiotics.
