Mucinous Cystradenoma borderline malignancy CA 125 results

I've been diagnosed with the above and had an abdominal lump removed 4 weeks ago. Am waiting on results of CT scan before they talk me brought the next stage. I have however had my CA 125 level result which is 40. What can this mean?

At this stage I would say inconclusive. You should wait for the scan results and any biopsy if taken. Love Paul x

They were talking about doing a small operation to biopsy of appendix, womb, tubes ovaries etc and see what that throws up. A biopsy of the lump removed from abdominal wall was bordaline. I was told its likely that it started somewhere else and spilled into abdominal cavity??? If its somewhere else is it likely to be borderline to or full cancer?

I also had this diagnosis , replied earlier. This result , very slightly elevated, was similar to mine pre op , 69 to start , then fell to 48 after an infection I had was treated. This is far better for you than a result in the 1000s , but you may well need a laparoscopy as has been suggested.

Try not to worry , you will need your strength for a second surgery. Borderline tumours can spread but my understanding is that they are nearly always borderline. Because it has come from elsewhere does not automatically mean that it is full blown cancer.

The main thing is that you are being treated at a very early stage.
