I would like to thank everyone who blogs on this site as it has been very useful for me to read what everyone is going through and has helped me through my 2 chemo cycles. I started chemo on 3rd July and have found a lot of useful information on this site as well as a lot of positive feedback.

Dear Cinderella

You've really been through the mill and your post is so modest. Welcome to our group of close friends who never meet one another but who provide lots of support whatever our mood and particular worry.

It's good you've found some support on this site. We'll keep watching out for you as you have your chemotherapy and then perhaps some surgery. It's a good sign you're feeling so well. Keep believing in that. Long may that continue.

Thank you Annie. I am doing well after my 2nd chemo last week. My only problem is I have developed peripheral neuropathy due to the Taxol and therefore find my fingers go numb at times or they hurt which is very frustrating. Otherwise I feel very well in myself and am able to eat well and do things around the house. I do not go to work since I would have to travel on the underground to central London and I am not happy to do that. i am getting lots of visits from friends and family and am also keeping myself busy with other things so do not feel down.

I am glad that you are doing well and pray that this continues for you.

Hi Cinderella,

Its seems we are both at the same stage I was diagnosed in May with Primary peritoneal cancer stage 3 c. I have also had 2 chemo sessions and my third one is on Wednesday. I too fell well and I'm still working although I am now part time. I have had a couple of side affects, constipation, sore mouth and disturbed sleep. but I am a positive person and want to fight this. The ovacome site is really great any problems or questions or even funny stories you fancy writing people will always take the time to read and reply. Hi Doreen and Cinderella,,

When I was going through chemo my nurse told me to make sure I cleaned my teeth after all food or at least rinse my mouth out to help alleviate any soreness that might occur, I was lucky it didn't and also reccommended I take Magnesia Pellegrine which is a laxative and also an Antacid, you may not have this in England but maybe an alternative, I took 15mls with water every day and I never had a problem with constipation, my nurse did warn me constipation could be a problem, I got it slightly the first time after chemo as I was in hospital and was not able to get it in time but no problems after that, when I felt I was okay I backed off until the next session, speak to your Dr or chemo nurse and see what they suggest. I was also told at the time that the drugs (carboplatin and paclytaxol) that I had, and I can't remember which one it was now can cause loss of bladder control sometimes during the chemo which I did get but was not told that until my second round of chemo, I found wearing personal pads during sessions helped me as the first time I was having trouble making it to the toilet in time without leakage, sorry about all the personal stuff but I found it made me feel more comfortable through it all, good luck to you both through your sessions, I will be thinking of you. xx Jorja

Thank you for all the advice & moral support I have got from all. It has definitely been a difficult time for me since Nov 2011. I had lots of bloating in my stomach & IBS type of symptoms so I went to my GP & asked for a CA 125 which she requested & an ultrasound scan. My CA 125 was 65 and the scan was clear. After a number of visits to the hospital Gynae oncology, Gastroenterology & Harmatology depts with a CT scan & biopsy requested by the gastroenterologist, it was diagnosed that I did not have lymphoma and the lymph nodes had ovarian tissue. It has therefore been quite a roller coaster for me. This site has definitely been a helpline.
