Panic mode activated :(

Feeling very much like a drama queen - but after a year and a half of no periods I bled really heavily last week - so heavily I called doc for tranexamic acid which helped years ago when I eventually had fibroids removed - he didn’t want to chalk it up to a post menopausal bleed as I’m not 50 yet so sent me for blood tests and booked me in for an examination next week - he called me yesterday to say the lab phoned down my results as the cancer markers were really high and wanted to see me straight away! I was halfway down the M6 for a few days away with my husband so can’t see him til the end of the week - I appreciate it might just be the fibroids back or maybe the fact I had covid last month has elevated the markers but way to ruin your first wee holiday in a few years eh? I’m trying not to panic but sick with worry…..

I feel for you ❤️ and there’s no point in saying don’t worry…because you already are. I would suggest you take each day as it comes, try to enjoy it. Give yourself a ‘worry half hour’ when you are allowed to think about it. Realistically the wait isn’t significant either way. Please stay away from google…nothing good can come of scaring yourself…and most of it is sensationalist or way out of date.

We will be here to offer patient to patient support if you need it…but fingers crossed you won’t xx

Thanks, really appreciate that - I stupidly googled after doc called yesterday but quickly stepped away from it, you’re so right!

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this, your bound to be worried at the moment. Im very glad to hear your gp is on the ball though and went straight in with tests. Hopefully it isn't as bad as you fear and is something that can be dealt with easily.

Lyndy is right about Google.....though it can take supreme effort to close that page down.

Try to keep busy if you can and exercise will help you sleep.

Do please let us know how you get on.

All the best to you . Liz xx

Thanks - I’m away for a few days in Liverpool and haven’t spoken to anyone apart from my very worried hubby so I’m glad I found you guys - I haven’t really slept all week and keep feeling panicky - bought some Kalms and trying to breathe deeply to calm myself down - imagination running wild as you can probably imagine it’s all a bit overwhelming - I’ll know a bit more on Friday x
