HI All, Hope you are as well as you can be. Need some advice please Originally diagnosed 15 years ago reoccurred in 2015. I ave had surgery 2 reoccurences, 3 lines of Chemo the last was Caelyx which was successful but did leave me somewhat tired. Anyway started Niraparib 300mgs mid Nov lots of side effects from hell, Really high blood pressure with a racing pulse Put on meds to bring BP down which as brought it down somewhat but still have racing pulse.Eventually reduced Niraparib to 200mgs 3 weeks ago.My major problem is fatique like I have never experienced before. If I sit down all the time no problem wouldn,t think there is anything wrong but any form of exertion like climbing the stairs, doing housework , walking the dog,I have to stop and start leaves me breathless and exhausted . Any advice would be thankfully receivedChris

Morning. I would contact your team. I had the same feeling when they put me up to 300. I used to walk the dog and 1/2 way round end up sitting crying because I was so tired (but also stubborn, determined, pigheaded etc etc!!)

When I started feeling dizzy, light headed and could ‘feel my heartbeat in my eyes’ (the only way I could describe it!) I had my bloods checked and they had crashed and I needed a transfusion.

Not to scare you, I feel almost immediate relief and so much better, but please call them to discuss.

Hope you feel better soon x

Hi, when I felt like this my hubby took me to A & E got seen to straight away re red card and my haemoglobin was very low and I needed a blood transfusion. As soon as I had the transfusion my energy levels came back.

Hi Chris, I have also had 2 ops and 2 recurrences, finished 3rd line chemo 5 wks ago. Due to start Niraparib in 2 weeks so very interested in your comments. During my last chemo I got anaemic 3 times which made me very breathless, hopefully it will be an easy fix, don't suffer in silence. All the best, Annie.

HI,

SORRY TO HEAR YOU'RE NOT FEELING WELL. I HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS FROM OLAPARIB. IT'S GOTTEN A BIT BETTER WITH TIME. IF YOUR BP GOES TOO LOW THE HEART RATE WILL GO UP TO COMPENSATE. MAYBE A DIFFERENT BP PILL? ALSO, IS YOUR HEMOGLOBIN LOW? WHEN MINE GOES TOO LOW IT GIVES ME THOSE SYMPTOMS AND EXTREME FATIGUE. MAYBE THE DR. CAN FIGURE IT OUT. I HOPE HE DOES AND YOU FEEL BETTER SOON.
