Is anyone on Icon9 trial? I’m planning to but would like to hear how others are getting on with it.

I was planning on joining this trial but was not eligible in the end. They seem to be very picky about who they take. If you can get on it then I think it's really worth a shot. Good luck xxx

Hi there. My neutrophils kept dropping on carbo caelyx so I wasn't able to have the last chemo. The timings then didn't work for the trial.

Ok thank you. Thats a shame but as my oncologist said there are always new trials emerging so hopefully there’ll be a suitable soon should you need it x

Thank you. At least I was on the icon 8b trial when I was first diagnosed. I was on the weekly taxol and 3weekly carboplatin and avastin arm.

Thanks. I’ve had one delay in carbo/caelyx because of low neutrophils. 2 more to go so hopefully I’ll be ok.

Hello dramaredgerbil

I started on icon9 at the beginning of August. 150mg twice daily. To date my only issues have been slight nausea on some days and some pain in my feet. Nothing that stops me living my life. I have my first scan next week, so am looking forward to the results a week later. There are two arms to this trial and l got the Olaparib on its own. What l like about being on a trial is the regular check ups and tests being done. Makes me feel well monitored. Good luck.

Sylvia x

Thanks Sylvia. X

I also have two more caelyx/carbo to go, then hopefully the ICON 9 trial if I am eligible. Where will you have your trial?

In Edinburgh. I am travelling there as Glasgow aren’t providing a trial. Where are you?

in reply to dramaredgerbil

I will be in London if I get accepted, still waiting to hear. Good luck with your trial. x
