BSO Surgery tomorrow for complex cyst

Hi,

I Having surgery tomorrow for a complex septated cyst and elevated CA-125. Having both ovaries and tubes out and if there is signs of malignancy he is reverting to open hysterectomy. It might still be caused by Endometriosis. I am feeling a bit nervous!😧Thanks for all the advice and support! Maria

I got on well with the surgery. Both ovaries were diseased from endometriosis and the complex cyst looks like an endometrioma. I won’t find out if it’s benign until the histology report comes back in About 5 to 6 weeks. He managed to remove the ovaries,cyst and tubes by keyhole do it should be a quicker recovery!

That sounds like as good as it can be at this stage. Good luck with your recovery from surgery. It can be frustrating to keep life in the slow lane but you will get stronger every day. Fingers crossed for you with the histology.

Hi the surgery went well with both ovaries and tubes removed by keyhole. They were both covered in endometriosis and the complex cyst looks like an endometrioma but I have to wait for the histology results to come back to confirm if benign or cancer! Thanks for the kind wishes! X Maria

Hi, I got on well with my surgery! Both ovaries and tubes were removed and were covered In endometriosis. The complex cyst looks like an endometrioma but I won’t get the all clear until the histology results come back! I only got a cert for one week off work even though I asked for a month off as I have to drive an hour each way and my job can be very stressful!!! I was hoping to stay off until after Christmas!! I on Tramadol painkillers until tomorrow! Thanks for the good wishes! X Maria
