Hello lovely ladies, I haven’t posted in a while as I am still going through test etc..... I have had a CT and ultrasound which have both come back clear, however my CA is still high. They are keeping an eye on my bloods to see if they come down on there own. I still have a very bloated stomach and lower back pain and now getting pains in my legs. I had to go for my routine smear test 3 weeks ago and the results came back as abnormal and that I have HPV. Could this be linked in anyway? I go on the 17th Oct for my colposcopy but I am still so confused. In truth I feel so uncomfortable and very deflated at the moment. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi Jo. That sounds uncomfortable. While I was waiting for my big surgery, I felt like a beached whale for two weeks.. what with the ascites. Draining some of it meant some relief but still...
I hope you will receive some results soon, and some relief.
That said. .. if nothing can be found via imaging but you can bear the symptoms reasonably easily, I think your medical team might suggest watch and wait... keeping an eye on the ca125 and re-scanning after a while. Maybe some antibiotics to head off any lurking infections which could also play havoc with the tumour marker?
If the symptoms are however unbearable, yet no cause can be found... maybe they'd consider explorative laparoscopy?
Hi I have had a rising CA 125 while on avastin and started feeling bloated during the summer they continued with me on avastin I started juicing two meals a day with organic green veg and the swollen tummy went down, however I still have a recurrence with very minimal ascites in the abdomen too small to consider draining, I do practice yoga daily and I feel it prevents pains and discomforts at this stage for me. I changed from dairy to vegan I use a product called Koko I also try to avoid sugar, I don't know if this makes much difference but I have great energy and can get on with normal life as I have a young family. I was advised not to have smear tests but I think it was because I was on avastin maybe you have inflammation that could be rising your CA 125, Take care Clare xxx
