I was told 6 months. My hairdresser tested my hair and advised the best time but by the time I was ready I decided to keep the colour I had. As you can see from my picture. Grey. xx

Thanks. Went today to have it cut and really like it. Hairdresser said 6 months too for highlights.

I’m getting my hair coloured tomorrow, at 3 months post chemo. It’s a semi-permanent colour, so I don’t know if that makes a difference. I had a patch test a couple of weeks ago and it was OK. I also didn’t lose my hair during my second line treatment, so this isn’t new growth, but established hair. Vx

Hi I’m a hairdresser myself so was desperate after chemo to have a colour on? So I put a semi permanent on after 6 weeks? After 3months had colour and couple of foils? Had patch tests first just to check for reactions. Good luck

I was also told 6 months. But I only waited 3 months. I only had toner on it. Then at 5 months got it bleached up with toner. It was all good for me no problems. I'm starting second line next Friday so will have to start again😘😘

As soon as my hair was long enough for me to go out without a wig, I had permanent colour - I think it was about 3 months after the last dose of chemo. I haven't looked back. Everyone loves the colour, they think it's natural - I went from dark brown to blonde! - and I have a massive head of lush curls - it used to be mostly straight. I often advise envious people (jokingly!) to try chemo to thicken up or curl their own hair. (Oh, and I wrote a song about the experience of going out in public with very short hair - it's called Attitude. First line - "Maybe you don't like my hair..." My band and I have made it into a grungefest of heavy guitar. :-) )

I use Daniel Field Watercolour. It doesn’t have the chemicals the others do. I’ve coloured mine even through chemo. It’s a lovely gentle product you order on line and they offer great customer service and help. Makes you feel so much better to have a fresh colour. X

I was told 6 months for synthetic dies (peroxide, ammonia) but for vegetable dies 3 months
