I am about to go a weekly taxol for eighteen sessions and have been told I will loose my hair again after just getting it back, I just wondered is there anyone out there who didn’t loose there hair on the same dosage.

Is the cold cap not a possibility for you? I used it through 18 weeks of taxol and although my hair thinned I didn’t lose it.

I will look into it thank you, When I lost it on my second treatment I thought it was a bit pathetic to worry about hair loss but only just having got it back I feel a bit sad,

Completely understand. I’m on third line now and and I still use the cold cap because I figure I went through all of that to keep it first time round do I’m not losing it now!

Good luck x

My hair which is always short, thinned but also grew ( what determines which hairs will drop out and which will survive?) so it was a bit of a comb over until I couldn't bear the daily fall out on pillow, shower and clothes and got hubby to shave remaining off. However it took nearly all 18 sessions ....

It then grew to about 1 cm....but 4 months down the line I am about to lose my hair for the 3rd time ( now half way through the Rotterdam regime of cisplatin and etoposide tablets) . However no fall out as yet

For me the hair thing is the least of my worries

I wore the cold cap. My hair thinned a lot but I didn't lose it all and it has grown back quite curly.

When I had weekly taxol my hair thinned but didn't all fall out. I posted on this forum at the time, & had replies from 1or 2 others who'd been in the same position. It seems it's unusual but not unheard of. Di

I too am due to start taxol weekly in a few weeks and was wondering about the cold cap. I too was just starting to enjoy having hair back.

The cold cap with weekly Taxol should save your hair. It has mine twice.xxxxx

I'm on weekly Taxol, now at the 12th cycle and have lost 90% of my hair.

If I'm not mistaken, you have to sit for longer if you chose the cold cap route. As I have to travel to London for my treatment, the day is long enough already so I chose not to have it. Good luck with the treatment, whatever you chose for your hair! Gxx

I used the cold cap and kept my hair , would recommend trying if your hospital offers them. X

I hope you are doing well! I didn't know about cold cap, and went through 6 years of round-the-year chemo and no hair😙. I felt lucky to be alive, hair or no. When I was put in an Olaparib trial, I went into remission and my hair grew back. This has been since 5 years. I take my Olaparib every day, with little or no side effects. I thank God for this medicine, as originally I was given 6 mo-2 years prognosis!

God bless you, and all of us, on this tough journey! Please keep us posted; we're all in this together!
