I am an 8 year breast cancer survivior with brca1 gene. I was diagnosed in Oct with stage 3 Primary Peritoneal Cancer. I had my ovaries out 7 years ago, and now a complete hysterectomy n debulking and 12 chemo treatments. When diagnosed my ca125 was 607, now down to 110 and I start Lympraza tomorrow. Just reading about the side effects and praying this will work to kill off the rest of the small cells remaining. I’ve had no sickness with chemo, mainly weight gain. From what I’ve read here this seems to work for so many.

There are a number of us who had BC before OC, including me. Really tough for you, given the steps you took. Just curious: did they leave the fallopian tubes?
Also many on Olaparib/Lynparza, including at least one for more than 3 years.
My advice is don't read the side effects too much. We're all different and we respond differently. I'm on a different PARP inhibitor with no problems at all, bar a slightly odd couple of weeks at the start. Wait and see.
What certainly seems clear is that BRCA1 and 2+ women gain most benefit from them.
Thank you , but they had also taken out my tubes, but left the uterus.
Hi I was saddened to read 8 years after your BC journey you now have OC. I didn’t know this was an OC site. I was diagnosed w/Stage IV Inflammatory BC in 2014/15. I had over a year of chemo before having a radical mastectomy in May of 2016. Then 30 radiation treatments. I’m on targeted therapy of Herceptin & Faslodex every 4 weeks. I have lymphedema in my arm and had a recent flare up that is why I joined the Healthlock site. I wish you well on this new journey. Thoughts & prayers to you and all the ladies on this site. Jeanne
