Hi Izzy, yes, I have had one - very straightforward and non-invasive. You just lie on the bed and they line you up and get the machine in place. Much easier than all the other scans we have! Vicki x

Ditto what Vicki has described Izzy-results took a few weeks I think. I was told I had got osteoporosis and put on meds to help x

I've had 2 dexa scans. Very easy to have, just lie there, no drinks or dyes or any other stuff. Di

I had a dexa scan and I now take calcium and vitamin D tablets every day to try and prevent osteoporosis.

Me too, I've had a DEXA scan - 2 off - can only be repeated every two years. I have osteopenia (precurser to osteoporosis) and am on calcium and vitamin D tablets daily.

The scan is "easy peezie" Best wishes.

Hi I had one back in November due to thyroid problems, it came back with oestrapenia in lumber spine and oestraporosis of the femur head. They wanted me to start Fosamax but starting chemo shortly for reoccurrence.
