Being outdoors makes such a difference!

Some musings for a Sunday afternoon. I haven’t posted in a while but I read regularly how everyone is getting on and although sad by a lot of the news we’ve had recently I’m still inspired by how upbeat everyone can be. I have my 3 month check on Friday and although I know we all get anxious I am almost resigned to the fact that they’re going to tell me it’s back 😕 I finished second line treatment last June and was NED but for the last few weeks I’ve had a pain down my right side, concentrated around my kidney area. I had slight symptoms of a UTI too so hopefully went to the GP so see if that’s what it was - it wasn’t. That was 3 weeks ago and the pain has if anything got worse. I can only describe it like someone has an elastic band around my bowel and kidney and is pulling it tight. I’ve been constipated on and off (although that is t anything new) and just the last couple of days I e started to lose my appetite. I had a CA 125 done last week so will get the results when I see my onc on Friday. Been feeling pretty miserable but currently sitting in my garden -(big coat and woolly hat on!) and this has definitely lifted my spirits. Listening to birdsong and there’s even a couple of daisy’s poking through the grass. What will be will be and at least by next weekend I’ll definitely know one way or another.

Happy Sunday everyone xx

Happy Sunday Lovely, isn’t it lovely to be able to get out into the great outdoors and hear the birdsong and also, like we were chatting about yesterday, to see the spring flowers starting to make an appearance, I often think that when the weather is gloomy it makes us gloomy too and we can get a bit stir crazy, this is one of the many things that keeps me on the straight and narrow, I’d be rubbish in prison not being able to go outside when I feel like it 😬.

I hope your feelings in your tummy aren’t due to anything sinister, I get very similar sounding feeliings/symptoms if I have anything containing yeast so no 🍷 🍻 or 🍞 for me 😢 so hopefully maybe it could be something food related for you? I didn’t get these symptoms until around 12 months post chemo, but you are right that you’ll have all the information at your appointment with the oncologist so you’ll know one way or another by weekend.

Let us know what they say, I know there’s no point saying don’t worry. Sending you love and hugs ❤️Xx Jane

Lovely to hear from you and completely agree... just been for a long walk with the dog and whilst it doesnt change what's happening or happened, it does boost the spirits! Best wishes to you Sx

You are so right, being outdoors is truly up-lifting. Daisies so early, amazing. Good luck Friday.

Good luck Friday, it could be adhesions?

I love listening to birdsong and being outside. Throughout winter I have often put my big winter coat on and sat out to have coffee. I’m sure my neighbours think im a fruit loop lol. It does somehow lift the spirits and ground you I think. I noticed on my daily walk yesterday that the snowdrops are out, what a wonderful sight.

Hugs, Marian xx

Hi Becky,

Hope all this comes to nothing for you. I have unexplained pains about a month before my check which always miraculously dissapear after Im told Im ok.

Enjoy the fresh air, what will be will be and you are a strong enough lady to cope no matter what,

Love,

I agree about being outside in nature, a medically proven boost. I got my husband to put up a new nesting box yesterday. It was really lovely to be out in the garden. We got all inspired and took the dog out....and .... you’be guessed it - it started to drizzle. Still enjoyed it tho. Try not to worry, even if worse case scenario it is back there are options. I had 2 months’ respite since last chemo and scan shows it’s near my bowel. I’m feeling like I have options... always a new day and so on and so on.....

Take care xxx Netti x
